Integrated APP/Group Topology

This document is for users who run several projects and want to see the overall connections at a glance.

A per-project topology makes it hard to see the whole picture. The Integrated APP/Group Topology lets you select several projects at once and shows them as a single topology.

Viewing the topology

  1. Go to Home > All projects > Integrated APP. Topology.

  2. Select Project at the top left.

    Selecting projects

  3. Select the groups or projects to show in the topology.

Reading the screen

Clusters are formed per project around the center of the screen, and the groups in each project are placed beside it.

If the nodes are too close together or too far apart, click the zoom (Zoom icon) buttons at the top of the screen to adjust the spacing.

Note
  • Large environments are usually split into several projects. When drawing them as a topology, grouping nodes by project makes the overall scale easier to understand than placing every node evenly. Nodes are therefore placed automatically in clusters.

  • Projects, databases, external hosts, applications, and external modules that call groups are used as cluster units.

  • Clusters are formed by project, external module, external call, and DB call.

Topology inside a project

Topologies for a single project are covered in the product documentation. These include the application topology, instance topology, and Netstat topology. For more information, see Application topology types.
