Access Control

You can allow or block access to the WhaTap service based on IP addresses.

  • When registering an IP as allowed, all unregistered IPs are blocked.
  • When registering an IP as denied, only the added IPs are blocked.

Select the profile icon at the top right of the screen, and then select the Access control menu.

Registering an IP address

  1. Select the + Add IP button.

  2. Enter the new IP information (IP address, description, access permission).

  3. Select the Confirm button.

Caution

Important note when registering allowed IPs (whitelist mode)

Once the allowlist is registered, the whitelist mode is applied and all access from IPs not on the list is blocked. To prevent disruption, register the current operator's IP in the allowlist first.

Note

To modify a registered IP address, select the Edit icon icon next to the IP address.

Deleting an IP address

Select the Delete icon icon next to the IP address you want to delete. Deleting an IP address changes the access permissions.

  • When deleting an allowed IP: Previously blocked IPs can now access the service.

  • When deleting a denied IP: That IP can now access the service.
