• Feature Added collection of emptyDir volume usage

  • Walks the directories of disk-based emptyDir volumes and sends usedSpace (bytes) and fileCount to kube_pod_volume.
  • Distinguishes volumes by the volumePlugin, volumeName, and hostMountPath tags.
  • Uses a separate 60-second collection interval to limit the overhead of directory walks.
  • Configuration options: collect_pod_emptydir_enabled (default: enabled), pod_emptydir_max_files (default: 20,000), pod_emptydir_max_volumes (default: 300).
  • Volumes that reach a collection limit are marked with truncated=1, and their usage is collected lower than the actual value.
  • Uses the existing read-only /rootfs mount, so no additional RBAC permissions or volume mounts are required.
  • Volumes whose pod namespace and podName can't be identified aren't sent.
  Note

  This version doesn't collect capacity or usedPercent for emptyDir. Evaluate the usage of disk-based volumes together with the pod's ephemeral-storage limit.
